The idea that Skill, not Strength is the destination for movement.

Movement culture.

We believe the key to changing a sedentary lifestyle, is not exercise, or diet. The key to changing a sedentary lifestyle is falling in love with a movement lifestyle; or as we call it, a movement culture. The culture that surrounds the activity is what gets us to fall in love with activity, not activity in and of itself.

One of the most basic movement cultures in existence is Martial Art. It encompasses basic emotional stresses (fear, doubt, anxiety) and teaches positive and productive solutions to such stressors in a physical medium:

Learn how to defend yourself, and be healthy in the process of learning.

STRUCTURE AND VISION

“I am a proponent of physical education. I feel, the yield of any physical education worth studying should be an increase of physicality, as well as technicality.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu has been my subject of study for 11 years. The study of Jiu-Jitsu has allowed me the technical ability to defend myself against those physically superior--but something unintended happened along the way: The longer I studied Jiu-Jitsu the more I became physically and technically superior to the past versions of my self.

I got stronger, and better than me, year after year.

It's for this reason I choose to now teach and share Jiu-Jitsu. I've also realized, that to teach Jiu-Jitsu, is a matter of sharing in the most efficient way possible.

I feel the job of the teacher is to provide an organized framework in which students can easily participate, and progress in. As much as you will find a beautiful martial art here, you will also experience an educational system designed for you to absorb in a palatable way.”

Yours in Jiu-Jitsu,

Jose Dominguez

SCHEDULE

jiu jitsu YOUTH (AGES 6-7)

MONDAY & WEDNESDAY | 5:00-6:00PM

Play is the seed of discipline. In order to commit to something, our children must have the opportunity to first develop a basic sense of enjoyment. We learn best, when we are having fun. Happiness creates the will for the child to apply and understand. The curriculum includes embeds basic jiu-jitsu movements and situational awareness through interactive games. The end result is physical and technical development as a side effect of having fun.

jiu jitsu YOUTH (AGES 8-12)

MONDAY & WEDNESDAY | 6:00-7:00PM

Intense. Yet playful. Playing permits your child to remain engaged and intensity allows their skills to be challenged. Classes are designed to build a strong physicality and the skills of Jiu-Jitsu. This structure provides children with a positive experience towards learning and Jiu-Jitsu, as well as aids in their personal growth. Structure, intensity and play are the road map to developing discipline.

jiu jitsu SPARING

SATURDAY | 11:00-12:30PM

The more you roll, the more you know. By trial and error you accelerate your level of competence. In this class the emphasis is on sparring. Students will explore a wide range advanced situations and components that will happen on the competition mat. During sparring students will learn to engage under the rule set of Jiu-Jitsu competitions. This class permits students to be creative with the skills they have cultivated.

BJj 101 | (AGES 13 AND OLDER)

MON & WED: 45m Physical Conditioning x 45m BJJ Drills

Strength and Skill go hand in hand. Strength makes skill more effective, and skill makes strength more relevant. Both feed each other. Our group classes are devoted to increasing both facets. Students can expect body weight exercises that aid Jiu Jitsu movements at an intensity that increases the bodies basic movement competencies. In the section to follow, students can expect a structured curriculum designed to introduce the student to basic concepts of Jiu Jitsu and later progressing to advanced components.

BjJ 101 | (AGES 13 AND OLDER)

TUE & THU: 45m Physical Conditioning x 45m Technical Instruction

The goal is to become unconsciously competent in moving our bodies. This class is designed with a focus on intense repetition. Adding intensity to repetition plays a major role in training, it aids in building a deeper connection with Jiu-Jitsu. High intensity training not only challenges our physicality, but also, our mental state and it forces one to remain calm under duress. Once you have cultivated your skill, sharpening your skill is equally as important.
